Propriety is Everything

Things we say No Comments

My kids just went out in the pouring rain. Yes, I allow that. When they came in, I asked if they had taken the soap (for a shower, see), and Batman said “No, we’re not gonna get naked in front of the dogs!!” It actually took a few seconds for that one to sink in, but when it did, I almost busted a gut laughing. I tell ya, I need my own Jura Capresso coffee center to keep up with him!

Ambleside and LLATL

in month long Orlando vacations each year to put it together, and it’s just more cost effective to order the books, ya know?

The remainder of this post has been relocated in a blog reorganization to avoid a duplicate content penalty. You can most likely find it on Cass Knits. Since I am contractually obligated to 60 words, I feel compelled to leave an explanation. Just in case that mass email referred to this post, which wasn’t removed, but only truncated. Enh, better safe than sorry.

And the music

Mom is a person too 1 Comment

ARrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Between Carrie Underwood (we say Carrie Underwear around here) and Big & Rich, I am about to go insane. Remember I just posted about needing quiet???? I’m not getting it. I think it may get louder before it gets quiet. The children are having a snack, and then I am going to tell them to find a job. Of course, these will not be jobs they like, muhahahahahahaha. These will be jobs that will allow me to have some semblance of a life once I get my divorce.

Paid in Full

I’ve been watching something happen that has been pretty amazing. When I decided to go ahead and bump us back to a full CM school experience, I knew it would cost money, and probably a substantial amount. I decided what I wanted and then I gasped at the amount of money it was going to cost, and had a real crisis of faith. I thought about it for awhile, and then I said “God pays His bills”, and I clicked the submit order button. I did wait until I had enough in paypal to pay for the first major purchase, which happened to be LLATL (times 3 students). Then I started looking for the rest of what we needed. I figured I might end up having to put some of it on a low interest credit card, but that it was worth it.

And then I watched in amazement as God did exactly what I had said He would do. It was incredible to watch, and it gave me goosebumps as I watched payment after payment roll into replenish that paypal account. I ordered the materials for composer and artist study, and I got notices from paypal that I had received money. In almost the exact amount I had spent, ya’ll. It was crazy.

Now, I do still need a few items, things I’ll pick up in town and not order online, mostly art supplies. I”ll end up putting those on credit cards, because I still don’t have a paypal debit card. But there is money in paypal to cover the expense. Now don’t read more into this than I am saying. There have been years where I’ve needed to compare credit cards and worry about interest rates and just such as this. But this year? School is paid in full.

Shopping

Getting it Done 1 Comment

I need to shop. I don’t need Callaway golf equipment, but I do need other stuff. And my problem is that I’m not quite sure when I am supposed to acquire this stuff that we have to have. By Saturday morning at 8 am, I have to have a pair of cheering shoes for Diva. Not a big deal, right? Except we have one vehicle (and 7 kids at home) and dh works (umm, d’uh). And tonight, there is sports practice. And also on Thursday night. And on Friday night, there is a game for Spidey and Batman. Now bearing in mind they get home after 8 from practices, and that I aim to be in bed by 10 so I can be up at 6, you begin to see the magnitude of my issue. It’s looking like I’ll be making an early morning trip to WalMart tomorrow morning. I guess that’s ok, since I can’t go Saturday morning like I’ve been doing.

Will someone please explain exactly how I am suppose to shoehorn all this fun into our lives?

Dress Up for Real

I told you yesterday about the daughter who loves to watch movies, and the one who like to draw and the one who designs clothes. But little Drama, she like to dress up. (Diva still does too, but we don’t mention it, and if we do, we call it “testing a design”). When I saw these fairy tale costumes at Halloween-Store.com, I just knew she would enjoy them. This pixie is just “her”, yk?

Speaking of things kids would like, it’s about time to start a serious Christmas list. Where has this year gone?
