I used to do a weekly post here called “Mothering Monday”, but that’s fallen by the wayside since I started doing Menu Plan Monday. I missed it, so I’ve brought it back as Friendly Friday, and each week, I’ll introduce you to another fine blog. This week’s Mother of Many is April, and the current front page of April Showers made me giggle at least four times, and nod in agreement just as many. Enjoy!

It’s time to write lesson plan for Diva. I’ve forgotten to do it for two weeks now, so this post is to serve as my reminder. I just pulled some books for her this week, and we winged it, but I really like to have a good set of plans. I do them 12 weeks at a time, because we have 3 terms per year using Ambleside. I guess I could call well written plans term insurance“>term insurance that keeps us from getting sidetracked by rabbit trails along the way, huh? One of the things I like about CM is that the school days are pretty short, leaving plenty of rabbit trail time after “school” is done.

Getting it Done

Remember way back when I said make a house keeping schedule and keep it, and then you could just maintain a relatively tidy home? I’m sure I said it. Bwahahahahhahah.
Yeah, I fell off the wagon, and finally this week, I’ve snapped. I told you in the post before last that I was on a tear, and I am. Now, I’m not going to detail what all I’m doing, because I am dong that on a another blog, and really, it’s not pretty enough to bear repeating here. Nonetheless, I’m repeating my earlier advice about cleaning:
Clean some everyday, just start at one spot and work your way around the house, and repeat forever. If you do that, you won’t be like me: considering calling Dr. Larry Shapiro to find out how to replace the hair I’ve torn out.

Batman did another crazy thing today. For some reason, he thought he wanted pegs for his bike. Now, the boy is five years old, so I’m not sure who he thought would trust him enough to climb up on there to get a ride, but he bought some off a neighborhood boy. I went over to the other boy’s house to return them and get the money back. He didn’t take out a payday loan for this misadventure. Instead he, used money he’d lifted from his sibs. Sigh. We really have to work on that.

Tales from the Front

In the midst of my cleaning today (yeah, I’m on a tear, ya’ll), I took a break to get some work down at my desk. I worked merrily along, accomplishing the mission I had set before myself, and go up to go back to my cleaning. And that’s when I noticed my pants were warm and wet. Drama had pee’d in my chair sometime while I was up and busy. Some days I just love being a mom!
