Scrubs

lrg Product 116.jpgI keep threatening to get myself some scrubs. Every time I visit Grandmother in the nursing home, I see some cute scrub shirt that I know my kids would just giggle to see me in. I even saw one made with Winnie0th-pooh fabric, and you know that’s my favorite. Now, i know some of you are laughing at the idea of wearing a medical scrub uniform at home, but let’s be real. Comfortable, lightweight, easy to clean, what’s not to love. Grape jelly kisses? check, it’ll wash right out! Lollipop hugs? no problem! And look, who can resist something as cute as that? And if you don’t think that one is the cat’s meow, here are 6 pages of print scrub tops to choose from.

Where are they?

I keep a little bucket on my desk. It’s supposed to contain writing pens and pencils. The children are supposed to use them as needed and then return them to the bucket. The bucket gets replenished on an amazingly frequent basis, and yet, it is nearly always barren. Where are the writing implements? I find a few in the couch, and on the floor each day, but……..never the original numbers. I think my kids are eating the pencils!

Singularly Unmotivated

Is it ok if I admit I am just not feeling it today? I have a nice allergy attack going, and I am short-tempered and waspish, and unfit company for even myself. I’m thinking of my children as so many chores to be accomplished, and I just want to crawl under a rock and be by myself. Oh, I didn’t wait for you to answer, did I? Oops, sorry about that.

Some days are just meant for dreaming of getting away, and this is one of them. WeNeedAVacation.com has certainly got my number today. I’m looking at their Martha’s Vineyard vacation rentals and thinking, “oh yeah, baby”. But I’m warning you: if I can’t go by myself, I’m not going at all.

I think I better go take a nap now, before I bite someone’s head off. Again. I’ll feel better if I do that, I think. Nap I mean, not create headless little people.

Tackle it Tuesday May 29 2007

Well, it’s not all re-washed yet, but I did do several loads today, and at least it’s in the wash are and not only the sofa. I should really celebrate by going to sit on it, LOL!

More on Laundry

A while back, i told you all that I use dish soap in my washing machine, because it is cheap and effective. I just wanted to note that I still stand by that for top-loaders, but if you have a front loader, go with the HE stuff. I’d been using the dish soap after I got my new machine, but I borrowed a bit of the HE stuff from my mom yesterday, and the difference in the way the clothes feel is so extreme that I am rewashing the laundry that’s piled on the couch before we put it away. Yeah, I’m doing extra laundry. It’s just that good.

Hmm, that sounds like a good idea for Tackle it Tuesday, doesn’t it? I just snapped a before shot, and I’ll post it along with the after later this evening.

Too Cute By Half

I’ve had a total of five baby showers between my 8 children, and I enjoyed each and everyone of them. I’ve attended my fair share for other moms, too, but I think they decorations i saw today at PartyPail are among the cutest I’ve ever seen. These guys carry complete lines of party goods from baby shower tableware to matching decorations.

Just look at these Princess Baby Shower Decorations! Diva has a birthday coming up next month, and these would be perfect for her party. She’s going to be 12, but you are never to old to be a princess! Come to think of it, my birthday is coming up pretty soon, too. I’ll be 40, and I’m absolutely certain I’d rather have the princess set than the “over the hill” set someone is bound to think is funny.

Blog Your Blessings Sunday May 27

I am so late doing this. I’m going to need to start doing it earlier and setting it to auto publish, don’t you think?

I am blessed by my children. I’ve been making a point to have more fun with them lately, and much laughter has ensued. We’re having a good time together, and I’m telling them that they are important to me.

I am blessed by my parents. They came over last night and visited, and it was so fun just hanging out. My mom and I spent the afternoon together today, doing nothing special, and it was fun, just because we were together.

Farming in Florida

I just posted those photos of the scrumptious looking veggies from last night’s dinner, and now I am wondering where they were grown. For some reason, it never occurred to me to think of Florida as an agricultural state, but I’ve discovered today that agriculture is a $87 billion industry there. This short video highlights the Florida farmers, and mothers, trust me when I say that you want to pull your sons over to you before you click play. The ending is kicking!

So, did you learn as much as I did? And did you get hungry?

Cute Alphabet Book

I have a penchant for alphabet books. We have several here, and I like to read them to the pre-schoolers to get them familiar with the alphabet before they begin to read. The kids really enjoy them, and so do I, and that’s just a winning combination, isn’t it?

I saw this one today on Amazon, and thought I would share. Alphabet Fruit was written by a parent as a birthday present for a 2 year old. I don’t have an alphabet book that concentrates on fruit (yet), so this may have to go on my wish list.
