Introducing DaBaby

The Fam No Comments

Ok, what can I say about a child who climbs in the dryer? Yes, we laugh at her all the time. She’s just funny, and she knows it. She also thinks we can’t see her if she hides her eyes, and that is just hilarious. DaBaby gives great hugs, and loves to nap in her highchair. Yes, you can read that as “only sleeps when tied down”.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SPIDEY

The Fam 2 Comments

Spidey is eight years old today. It doesn’t even seem possible. He enjoys Cub Scouts, card games and sword fights. He likes POTC and Nash Bridges. He’s super smart, and promises to use his super spidey powers for good. He’s busily planning a movie/sleepover party for his birthday.IMG 0297

Introducing Diva

Here’s Diva, making the “cheer face”. She’s 12.5, all that and then some. She enjoys writing and television and reading. She’s a little social butterfly, and enjoys interacting with others, as well as tormenting her brother. She is such a help to me, especially with the babies, and I’d be lost without her. I’m not quite sure where she got tall and thin from, but I’m happy for her. Usually.

Introducing Country

The Fam 3 Comments

Mrs. Mecomber called me out today about only having 5 of the children up on the Meet the Family Page. Oops. I always meant to finish that up, but, umm. Yeah, ok, I am a big slacker mom, and I apologize. Country, Diva and DaBaby are missing, and the rest need updating. Except TheClone– that picture was taken the night before she left, so it’s the most current one I have. We’ll count her done, and move on to Country.

Country is 14 and earned her nickname because of her penchant for country music. Now her musical tastes are expanding. She enjoys cheer leading and reading and television. She is as addicted to the internet as I am. She is an awesome cook, too!

Update on Batman

The Fam No Comments

So, he had his tonsils out. And also his adenoids. And I was assured that he would be most mopey and tearful for at least a few days. It would be quiter hear, just for a bit. NOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT! Except for thrashing his way out of the anesthesia, the boy has been fine. In fact, he has been so fine that I had to threaten instant annihilation to get him to stop running through the house this morning.

And we’re back

The Fam No Comments

Surgery went well, Batman is practically bouncing around the house, and we’ve both had a nap. More or less interrupted. I was told that today would be a honeymoon of sorts, but that tomorrow would be pretty rough. Usually when my kids get whiny I either send them to bed or tell the to find a job to do, but I guess I will have to dust off my compassion for the next few days. Got to bed might work out ok in conjunction with the Tylenol 3, but I imagine a job search is out of the question. At least for him — – I’m liable to have to do a few extras, though.

My jewels

The Fam 2 Comments

You know how some women have jewelry boxes stuffed full of expensive baubles, and some women don’t? I happen to be one of the latter type of female units. I’m totally ok with that, because I would much rather have these than those.

Yeah, I think I do need to do some more posts about my kids. Have I even introduced them all? I don’t think I have. Umm, I just checked. That would be no, and the ones I have introduced need updating. Ok: this week you get kiddos. HA! that will last right on into next week, won’t it?

Oh yeah, these were made on Saturday at the park.

T and A

The Fam 2 Comments

Great news: Batman can hear just fine!

Bad news: the ENT took a very quick glance into his mouth and said “HOLY MOLEY”, just about that loud. His tonsils are that big. We’re scheduled for a T&A next Wednesday morning, and had a blood draw for it on the way home from our appointment. I’m assured that his snoring will decrease, he will sleep better, and also be able to concentrate better. Yay us!!

PS: this is my first tonsillectomy from the mommy side

Longest School Day in Forever

Broken up by this gem, delivered by Diva: the symbol for males has an arrow because their brains have left the planet.

In other news, I finally tracked down an appointment for Batman. Tomorrow at 9am, he sees the ENT. What a confusing mess that was! It worked out, though, and I found out the referral also mentioned adenoids, etc, and not just his hearing.

And also, if Stuntman doesn’t quit jacking the rest of us around, I am going to jack him up. That is all.

Walk with Me

Play Hard, Tales from the Front, The Fam No Comments

You know, sometimes I am so proud of my children. In a couple weeks, on te 13 of October, I’m going to be participating in The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk. In fact, I am organizing the event for my little town. And the reason I am so proud of my kids is that most of them are jumping in behind me with both feet, ready to do whatever they can. I love that!

Hey, let me ask for your help, too! Could I get you to click this banner, and donate a little but for Alzheimer’s research?

Thanks!

As for me, I’ll probably fill up a good chunk of my new 1GB SD card that day. And, yes! Of course, I’ll share!
