I was just over reading on Melissa’s blog, and what she said made my hair stand on end. She’s due with her second baby in 20 days, and she’s moving on July 6th. She’s determined to have everything organized before the baby gets here! Good Luck, Melissa. I hope the baby holds off until you are ready.

Today’s shout-out doesn’t go to a Mother of Many. In fact, it doesn’t go to a mother at all. It’s going out to a dad with just two kids. His name is Danny, and he writes Dad Gone Mad. I’m going to warn you in advance that the language on this blog is pretty strong, but he makes me laugh every.single. time. I read him. Well, except for the one time I almost cried, which is the only time I ever made a comment. I thoroughly enjoy this blog, and I’m betting you will, too.
Sorry, Danny, your blog is about to appear under a heading of “More Mothers of Many”. Somehow, though, I bet you’ll find humor in that.

My pal Laura posted today about an accident her daughter had. If you have kids (I assume you do, since you are here) and they like to play on slides, her post is a must read. While you are there, check out the rest of her blog, too. She’s another Mother of Many. Laura tells it like it is and doesn’t pull any punches. She has 5 children, and that number includes 2 set of twins.

With a little bit of humor, and quite a bit of practicality, Deborah over a Uncommon Notions lays it on the line. She’s mom to five, and a restaurant owner, but you’ll find much more than kids and food on this blog. There’s plenty to think about here. Go give her a read, and tell her I sent ya.

Today I am highlighting a blog by a mother of four. Now, this blog of her’s is not all about her kids. She has another blog for that, as do I. This blog, Just Not Martha is full of ideas for moms–stretching a buck, cleaning, holidays, and such.
What really makes this blog rock, though, is the recipes. In fact, Loretta has just started a new thing: reader submitted recipe reviews. Readers submit recipes, and she prepares them for her family. She takes pictures along the way, so you can see what the dish looks like as you are making it. And also, I think, to make you hungry! Then she lets you know what the family members thought of the dish. And if you decide you want to try the dish, you can print it right from her site onto a 4×6 recipe card.
She’s giving away goodies for submitted recipes, so get on over there and check her out.

Nope that’s not the name of the blog I am introducing you to this week. It’s my actual apology for not having one to introduce you to. I’ve been busy the last several days, and so I have not selected one to highlight. Why don’t you leave me a comment and tell me about one of YOUR favorite mom-blogs?

I love this blog. This woman is me, only far more eloquent and witty. Mel writes wonderful words that paint marvelous pictures in my mind. I guess that’s why she calls it Actual Unretouched Photo. You’ll have to use teh archives on the sidebar to read her previous entries. The buttons at the bottom of her home page are not working properly, but they do work on the monthly archives. Best bet: go every day so you don’t miss anything.

I know you will enjoy this blog! Jody is a mother to 4 young children, and she posts from the heart about her family. Take a few minutes to read who she is, and you’ll know the players involved in and baby makes 6!. Jody posts lots of great pictures, too. You know I love me some pictures.
I have to warn you that reading her blog will change your perspective on loving your husband. And I mean that in a totally awesome way.

Gretchen combines all my favorite things into one great blog. She knits, she has cute kids, and of course, she’s funny! Like me she has teens and a baby, so there’s a real mix of topics on her blog, and that makes it a real pleasure to read. Oh, she’s also a great photographer. I put her on this blog instead of the others for a reason any mother understands: Once you are a mother, that is always what you are.

Erin blogs at Poetic Acceptance. She’s fairly local to me about 3 hours), in Monroe, North Carolina. Her blog is the most painfully beautiful thing I read. See, Erin is a mother of five but she doesn’t get to tuck all those babies in at night. Reading her struggles to come to grips with her losses reminds me how blessed I am when I struggle in my own mothering journey. She’ll change your attitude from stressed to blessed just-that-quick. I’ve cried reading her blog several times, and never had the courage to comment. Erin: here’s your comment forever- thank you for having the courage to share your heart. You’ve changed the way I look at things more often than you can know, and I am sure I am not the only one.
