Mothering Many

Blessings are those things in our lives which we have in abundance, right? I’m a mother of eight, right? I’ve had my children working on their rooms while I tackle the rest of the house. Let me just say that we are abundantly blessed with CLOTHES. I’m also blessed with a nifty new washing machine, and plenty of detergent to put in it.

I have spent quite a bit of time cleaning this week, and this morning I realized that this is a blessing. Not only do I live in a house *full* of people who mostly love me, but I also have the health and stamina to clean. There are so many who live without love, and many more who are physiacally unable to do what they want to do. I’m blessed.

I am so late doing this. I’m going to need to start doing it earlier and setting it to auto publish, don’t you think?

I am blessed by my children. I’ve been making a point to have more fun with them lately, and much laughter has ensued. We’re having a good time together, and I’m telling them that they are important to me.

I am blessed by my parents. They came over last night and visited, and it was so fun just hanging out. My mom and I spent the afternoon together today, doing nothing special, and it was fun, just because we were together.

I am late posting this today, because I’ve been on the run: Church in the AM, lunch at the computer doing some uploading for church in preparation for tonight’s business meeting, visiting Grandmother in the afternoon and fellowship/business meeting tonight. Those busy-nesses are also my blessings.

I am so blessed by my church. I love to go there, because every week my soul is fed. I am blessed to have the technical know-how (limited though it may be) to do some internet work for our church. Our tech team is two people: a high school senior who already knows more than I ever will and myself. My skills are valued and needed and that blesses me. As for Grandmother, she has blessed me all my life. I could write volumes about her, and it would never be enough. I love her and she loves me and I am blessed,

Today I am blessed because I have healthy children who love me and a husband who loves me, too. I am blessed by my own wonderful mother. I could wax poetic about her, but I am sick. I have been out procuring the necessary food stuffs to feed this household of 9 for 3ish weeks, and I am exhausted, without audible voice and I must go to bed.

I am blessed to have the richest Daddy ever. I don’t like to give cold hard numbers very often when I speak of financial matters, and I am not going to do that today. But I must say that I have been blessed with work this week. That’s a wonderful thing, considering the additional expenses we have had for the past few months. It looks like I may have that air conditioner paid for while it’s still hot enough to use it, LOL!

I saw a friend of mine had participated in this meme earlier today, and I thought it was such a wonderful concept that I just had to play along. I’m sorry I can’t tell you who it was, but it was several hours ago and I have closed the tab, and I’m just lame, and maybe they will come along and comment, and I can add their link into this post.

There will be weeks when I blog about deeply serious blessings, but this first week, I am going to be a little light-hearted. I am so thankful that there is a breeze today. See, our air conditioner is on the fritz again, and so I have the windows open and it’s almost livable in here. We’re in the south ya’ll. It’s hot here and it’s humid, and I have a couple of borderline asthmatics in the house, not including ME. When I say I am blessed by a breeze, I truly mean it. The breeze means we can all breathe.
