Mothering Many

Yes, that’s the word for what they are! I’m talking about the children of course. My husband brought in the Christmas stuff from the shed this past weekend, and they are so ready to decorate! In fact, Diva has already done everything but the tree. We’ve made plans to put it up on Sunday, but Drama announces every day that it is Sunday and therefore “time for Christmas”.

We ended up not doing a Jesse tree after all this year, what with having no internets and all, so we are doing a regular Advent instead. We have a short Bible reading, read a couple of Christmas books and sing a carol. This year, I am being way smarter than I was last year. We missed a whole bunch of readings because I was gone so much, so this year, if I know I am going to be gone in the evening, we do it early in the day.

In other, different but related, news, we got the whole house more or less all clean at the same time. This created a some mountain range of dirty laundry, which we are processing, but other than that, it’s done. I’m really trying to convince my little people that a whole heap of mommy blow ups can be avoided with a few minutes cleaning each morning. So far, so good.
