T and A

Great news: Batman can hear just fine!

Bad news: the ENT took a very quick glance into his mouth and said “HOLY MOLEY”, just about that loud. His tonsils are that big. We’re scheduled for a T&A next Wednesday morning, and had a blood draw for it on the way home from our appointment. I’m assured that his snoring will decrease, he will sleep better, and also be able to concentrate better. Yay us!!

PS: this is my first tonsillectomy from the mommy side

I opted for not having my tonsils taken out before, but a lot of my cousins got all of theirs out.

    good luck with it!

Current understanding is that it’s not necessary to whip out the appendix or tonsils, unless it’s life threatening.

In my parents time, they were all for getting the tonsils out, just ’cause the kid got the occasional infection, as kids will do; their immune systems are developing, and they’re always messing about in the dirt, etc.

People have a weird habit of suggesting surgery, like human beings are robots, or something; take a part out, stick something in.

Personally, I’ve still got all my bits, and I’m glad. My mother was agin’ putting her kids under the knife (my cousins weren’t so lucky). I’m _especially_ glad my parents aren’t Jewish, if you get my meaning ;)
